The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework sets out the UK standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five. The curriculum is built around four principles:
At Apple Day Nursery, we use the curriculum as a framework and adapt it to suit the needs of an individual child’s needs. The EYFS is used throughout the setting offering consistency and continuity in your child’s development.
This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success. From birth until age 5, your child early years experiences should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure. Children need support for their development, care and learning needs. A key person is allocated to your child and key person meetings are held regularly and are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress on a formal one to one basis.
Our extra-curricular activities include music, dance, language and external trips. The children also engage in fun activities to celebrate events such as Christmas and other cultural events.
